Hidden Menagerie Clear Glass Drinkware Collection

A glass teapot or pitcher that doubles as a display object sits somewhere between the cabinet and the curio shelf. The collection spans ribbed cylindrical cups, globe-shaped pitchers, and rounded teapots, each formed from clear borosilicate glass and anchored by a miniature three-dimensional figurine sealed inside or integrated into the handle. The figurine is the point: a cobalt-and-amber snail perched on a tiny pedestal at the base of a spherical pitcher, a pink rabbit arching into the handle of a ribbed teapot, a white owl gripping a bamboo-form handle, a goldfish suspended mid-body in transparent glass as though the vessel itself is the aquarium. When liquid is poured in, the water and glass layers interact optically, magnifying and distorting the figurine in ways that shift with every pour. The objects are made by Ichendorf Milano and read as collectible specimens as much as functional drinkware — each variant in the Animal Farm, Alice, Botanica, and Vegetables series presents a different creature or botanical motif rendered with the same deadpan commitment to the uncanny. Displayed on a shelf they are a still life. Filled with juice they become something stranger.
