Glass Menagerie Clear Glass Cup

A borosilicate glass drinking vessel whose handle is also a miniature sculpture. Depending on the variant, a squirrel perches on a golden branch, a blue flower blooms at the rim, or a cobalt-shelled snail rests at the base of a footed cup. The clear cylindrical or spherical body reads as pure negative space, which makes the colored glass figure inside or beside it appear to float — an effect that intensifies when liquid is poured and the water's refractive index magnifies the figure. The collection spans mugs with sculptural handles, footed tumblers, round-belly pitchers, and ribbed bottles, each vessel form chosen to frame its resident creature or botanical motif as the undisputed subject. Color is concentrated entirely in the figures: amber, cobalt blue, grass green, dusty violet, soft pink — set against walls of optically clear glass that disappear into whatever surface they rest on.
