Hidden Menagerie Clear Borosilicate Glass Tumbler

A clear borosilicate glass tumbler with a three-dimensional animal figurine fixed inside at the base. The figurine — chosen from eleven characters including a goldfish, duck, turtle, squirrel, rabbit, snail, hedgehog, rooster, blue goose, flamingo, and peacock — stands as a sculptural presence within the glass. When liquid is added, the combined refraction of water and glass creates a natural magnification effect that animates the figurine, making it appear to float or swim in place. The cylindrical form is thin-walled and highly transparent, letting light pass through with minimal distortion so the coloured glass animal reads with full clarity from every angle. Each animal is rendered in saturated, colour-specific glass — the goldfish in deep amber-orange, the duck in celadon and cream, the rooster in layered red, olive, and cobalt — making the interior figurine the singular focal point of an otherwise restrained object. The tumbler functions equally as a daily drinking glass and a small, permanent still life on any surface it occupies.
